Am I the only woman of a certain age who is seeking the answer to this question? Married (happily), two delightful teenage boys, lovely home, no financial worries. Life should be great, but do you know what - it isn't. I feel like I am the supporting act in this household, and as the children are growing up, it's a role that requires less and less from me. In just a few short years they will be gone and I will be left with - what? No real purpose in life. In many ways I envy those who have a career to fall back on. I took redundancy from my 'proper' job in IT 12 years ago - I am now so out of touch with the job market that I am not even qualified to do a basic minimum wage job. So what should I do?
